It is summer! I have some time to do what I want now, which is draw fancy dress items….
EDIT: coloured it too…. and fixed the dodgy leg action.. with some cheesy rocks ;D
I hope some of you get the Red Dead Redemption reference in the feverfew.
Today I finally got a chance to do some digital painting, I took this photo near my studio last week of a lovely magnolia tree peering over this old wall. I really liked the colours of the red buildings and the sky and the tree. I also made it into an arch for practice.
I used brushes from http://ani-r.deviantart.com/ who’s paintings are awesome. I used a very similar colour palette to some of Ani-r’s work as well, but I was really trying to use colours similar to the picture of ‘Abi in the clouds’ that I did a long time ago. Mainly though I was trying to exaggerate the heat and brightness of the scene I photographed, these are the colours that I think of when I imagine this place.
