Yesterday I watched Sam play the new demo of Mirror’s Edge for PS3. I usually don’t enjoy FPS games just out of personal preference, maybe to do with the immersion factor and usually they are a bit too intense for me. (with some exceptions: myst being a puzzle game gives you time to act and the atmosphere is gorgeous, and portal can be quick thinking at times but I found it generally none threatening). I thought this one would make me feel particularly motion sick and/or panicked, but I really enjoyed it. Overcoming the initial factor that you have to hurl yourself off tall buildings, towards other tall buildings, is easy enough so long as you remember it is a fictional environment and won’t cause ME any physical pain.

As well as the graphics being generally gorgeous, its the lighting that I find really amazing. Its like real sunlight! Like one of those day-time simulating bulbs.

Went to Video Games Live and London Expo within hours of each other and got no sleep and nearly exploded!
JACK WALL SIGNED MY DS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and I got to shake his hand and tell him how much I love Myst and it was all very fangirly.
The actual concert thing was pretty sweet even without the myst songs.. and meeting Tommy Tallerico was cool! No idea who he was before but now I think he is very impressive, Even after Kef got him to do this about his religion ‘Kefology’.
The EXPO was pretty damn good this year, but mostly because I got to meet GOOD FRIENDS and bring people who had never seen real cosplayers. Oh the fun xD they were trying to break a record of some kind, I had never seen the queue that long! But it all worked out EXTREMELY well and had a luck filled day :3
I got THIS! for £15!!!!!

It’s also Halloween TODAY and I made a pirate coat for Andy on my course

I used the left over gold ribbon on my dress round the edge too ;D we gots the gold! Abi gets to see it all in person because SHES COMING TO VISIT ;D and I am very excited!!!!
Also, I need to make a blog for my Personal Development Programme for my uni course and as I have been neglecting cakebomb I would like it to be on here. Should I make a NEW BLOG for it, a category on this one… or a new page?! I’m mostly asking Bing here…. for now I will have a Category and put this in it :3

I’m at university! NUCA to be exact, Norwich University College of the Arts. They keep just referring to it as UniversityCollege and it makes me laugh. It has been quite good so far, we have mostly just been getting to know everyone and their gaming preferences, rather than working. We have been making a board game. Here are photos of mine!

Thats just the INSIDE of the temple! Its kind of like Indiana Jones… with REAL PLASTIC GEMS!
Other stuff I’ve been doing is not drawing and attempting to colour this picture on request from Kef, the artist. I’m only this far…

I said I might draw the fabulous Puppini Sisters here, and this time I DID!

Its not much, but its something! Blogging takes effort at the moment because only one computer has the internet, and not the one with photoshop. I wanted to do this before the group picture just to warm up for it. I haven’t done anything in ages. It reminds me of ice cream :3
It will be on the vault on the 14th. Ive got 6 days left at home with a computer before college starts. Lets see if I can do a group picture…
OH AND you should really look at the cigarette cards section of The Puppini Sisters Website because its AWESOME.

Ive hurriedly been painting some scenery for this it looks like this

EDIT: note the scale here.

Mina helped, she posted about it here. Theres some half-done shots there too.
So, haven’t really done a lot else thats constructive… except secure a MANSION of a house for college in September (one month today! YEAH!) and other earning monies. Heres a corner of my room

Not really had the internet either, or used Bingy’s lovely laptop with photoshop resources as much as I would have like… (right now I’m using one of my dad’s computers) but only one more day of painting and then I can do a group picture I planned with Abi when we were watching Beetlejuice XD
Saw Amanda Palmer of the Dresden Dolls last night with Sam and Umit… AND THE PUPPINI SISTERS!!!!!!!!

SO amazingly coincidental! They are somewhat of an inside joke between us since they covered Wuthering Heights on the Sharron Osbourne Show about a year ago….. AWESOME to see them live - surprise!! Amazing. Just visit their website. Within seconds you will love them. Might draw them, would be fun.
Yeah, Amanda was AMAZING too - especially when she did THIS!
I tried SO hard to get hold of it…
Someone also got all their lovely hair cut off on stage! (and then they handed it all out to the crowd.. that was weird) And she played Creep by Radiohead on a ukulele.. Umit took some photos and theres some other good ones here just to grab someone on flickr who was on the other side of the room. She was very.. underweary… But thats cool, and she has kissed Kelly of omgshoes fame.
So I am planning a group picture, but you will have to wait to see what the theme is!

After earning some money I was finally able to purchase Final Fantasy XII (and X-2!!!!!YES) which has since completely invaded my head AND MY DREAMS. It’s Not so much the silly characters and repetitive themes… like the weddings and the wars and the ghosts and the young, platinum blond boys with 90s tans… my favourite parts are the tiny shops in the underground city next to the sewers that have broken extractor fans and selections of colourful meats (doesn’t that sound beautifully unhygenic? because it is!), and the (outrageously overpriced) weapons and skills and stuff - sold by moogles! XD So I don’t usually do fanart… but Sam wanted a picture of Balthier because he loves him so much. Blathier is cool.. and Fran comes with him - thought it would be fun to draw a Viera… they really are just hot ladies with bunny ears.. but in a scary way! how does that work!? D:

I really should get on with other stuff… but maybe I’ll finish it for your birthday, Sam.

Drafts for some scenery, working out colours to buy paint.

Might need to use photo reference or a model for the arms when we paint it bigger, you can see what I mean from this though…

Working on the front page again, Mina this time. She is going to have lots of steam coming up from the tea she is pouring that has shapes emerging from it.
A little stuck on the left side of her face though (our right)

Ive just smudged the corner of her mouth up a bit and it’s slightly better.. Think I should add more colour like Abi has? Mina has no outlines at all. She is ADORABLE in my head, isn’t she?

How I got from this to this and managed to make Mina look about 6 years old is weird…

Its been about 2 hours since I did this and I’m noticing how unstable she looks, and how her hand would be truly unable to pour tea XD
